From our central Morzine chalets, you have easy access to both main lifts, two sides of the valley to ski on & lots of places to meet for lunch. Grand Sapin, Petit George & Petit Cham are easily accessible should you want to pop back between or after lessons or simply to get an extra layer or two!

CHILDREN’S SKI SCHOOL
(4 YEARS +)
Let us introduce you to The Snow School by ESF. Described as a ‘Premium ski school in Morzine’ and popular with all our guests, this is a great and successful introduction to winter sports for your child.
- For children 4+
- A group size of 4 -6
- Instructors who speak English and are all very experienced at teaching children.
- A great price too!
At the end of the week your child will be tested to see if they will graduate to the next level, they may gain a badge and a certificate or they may not. If you would prefer for your child not to be a part of this system, it is best to opt for private lessons.
The meeting point for the Ski School is at the bottom of the Pleney telecabine where you meet at their office for the first day. This is just 300m from Grand Sapin and is straightforward to find. The ski school will give you directions but your chalet hosts will also happily help advise how to get there.

GETTING TO THE MEETING POINT
Some ski schools such as ESF will meet on the first day at their office which is located opposite the bottom of the Pleney telecabine. They will then provide details of where the meeting point will be for the rest of the week. Normally this is at the top of the Pleney telecabine.

GRAND HIBOU & ATELIER
Quick access to the snow-sure pistes of Avoriaz 1800, the ‘plateau’ is a great place to learn. Quick access to the cable car and on the main bus line for if you need to pop home! Both chalets have hot tubs for tired legs!

Let us introduce you to NewGen Ski School. Highly recommended by previous guests, this is a dynamic ski school, well equipped to accommodate children of all ages and abilities.

- A huge variety of different classes for ages and abilities.
- Instructors who speak English and are all very experienced at teaching children.
- Small group sizes of 2-8 children.
- All children receive a certificate and badge at the end of week ceremony.

- ESF starts on Sunday and meet at the top of the cable car.
Avoriaz Alpine Ski School and Evolution 2 ski schools meet at the Plateau. To get to the Plateau one simply takes the chair lift up next to the cable car, Avoriaz Alpine Ski School have a video showing the way here!
If it is your time on snow and the chair lift does not look like your cup of tea then we recommend taking a horse-drawn cart! This was recommended to us by our guests. One simply arrives at the top of the cable car, picks up the free to use phone in the phone box and just like calling a cab, one appears, the cost is around €10.

MONTRIOND
MEUNIERS & CHAUMINE 101
Set in idyllic surroundings, Montriond has easy access to the mountains via the Ardent lift. Guests staying in our luxury catered chalet Meuniers benefit from our private chauffeur service and may choose to ski from either side of the PDS. However, access via the Ardent lift is the closest and most convenient, especially for children and learners.

Essentially there are 3 main options. At the top of the Pleney cable car, the bottom of the valley (in the village) and top of the Super Morzine cable car.
- Top of the Pleney cable car, Le Vaffieu “Top of Pleney cable car, take Bellevedere chair lift and it is at the end of this lift. Big portions and justifiably popular.”
- The bottom of the valley, the village. Hundreds of options including the Tremplin “bottom of Pleney cable car, lovely big sunny terrace and a hugely diverse menu”.
- Top of the Super Morzine cable car, Le Marais de Grenouille, “come out of the super Morzine cable car, walk straight ahead, be careful crossing the piste. The Marais is a charming, rustic restaurant with great views and a cosy traditional inside”.

Essentially there are 3 main options, the bottom of the Prodains cable car, the top of the Prodains cable car and somewhere in Morzine.
- At the bottom of the cable car, several options including The Kinkerne, a fun young lovely place with cost-effective options to fuel your afternoon!
- The top of the cable car, many options including La Taniere, so good that one family only ate here all week! Good value. Pedestrian accessible.
- Morzine, hundreds of options including the Tremplin at the bottom of Pleney cable car, lovely big sunny terrace and a hugely diverse menu.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons for adults and children
We believe that, like with anything, 1-to-1 tuition will help you progress the quickest. You will find a list of the various ski schools on our FAQ’s page. The best slots can go quickly so book early so that you don’t end up with a lesson at 16:00 and nothing to do all day!
- ESF is most likely to be the most cost-effective. Previous guests say that Francois Baud is great for adults.
- Easytoride has been really popular with guests and is a similar price. Antoine has come recommended by guests.
- BillSki is really popular with guests.
- MintSnowboarding are excellent for learning to snowboard.
LIFT PASSES
Here are some tips for ski passes for beginners
All ski resorts want to encourage beginners so will often offer a beginners pass. If you are booking through us, ask us for the latest details or ask at the ticket office when you buy your pass.
Avoriaz offers a really great beginners pass for around €25. It gives you access to a huge part of the ski area including
- Cable cars : Prodains, Super-Morzine and Ardent.
- Chairlifts : Plateau, Tour, Zore, Serraussaix, Proclou, Léchère and Dromonts 1 and 2.
- Draglifts: Trashers, Ecoles 1 and 2, Baron, Barmettes and Chapelle.
